1. Power & System Status

• Confirm the unit has power

• Check breakers or disconnects

• Make sure the system is turned on

 

2. Suction Performance

• Is suction weak or inconsistent?

• Are all operatories affected or just one?

• A single operatory issue may point to a line or valve problem

 

3. Clogs, Blockages, or Leaks

• Check for debris in traps or filters and valves

• Look for buildup in visible lines

• Blockages can reduce suction quickly

• Listen for sounds of air leaks

 

4. Filters & Maintenance

• Check and clean filters if applicable

• Regular maintenance helps prevent performance issues

• A neglected system can lose efficiency over time

 

5. Unusual Noise or Behavior

• Loud or unusual sounds

• System running but no vacuum

• Intermittent or inconsistent suction

These can indicate mechanical issues that need attention.

 

When to Call for Service

• has little or no suction

• affects multiple operatories

• isn’t responding to basic checks
